Pastor Adrian Mpofu – Chairman

For the past 36 years Pastor Mpofu has served both the church and the community in providing spiritual guidance and counselling, health education, leadership, and promoting moral, socio economic and academic development as well as sound human and marital relationships.

He graduated with a Masters of Public Health from Loma and Master of Arts from Andrews Universities in USA, Bachelor of Arts and Min Diploma from the University of Solusi College, Zimbabwe.  He has an award of Merit from the Department of Health & Temperance of the General Conference of SDA Takoma Park, USA.

     

     
 

Mr Mompati D. Nwako - Deputy Chairman

Mr M.D. Nwako is RPC Data General Manager and Executive Director. He served the Public service at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning for 13 years where he reached the position of Director of Budget Administration, responsible for National Development Budget.  He has also served in various capacities in numerous multi-nationals.

He read for a Bachelors degree in Commerce at the University of Botswana and Swaziland, completed his articles of clerkship with Coopers and Lybrand, and obtained a Professional II Diploma with the Charted Institute of Public and Accountancy in London.

     

     
 

Mr Segomotso Basiamang - Member

For the past 27 years he has devoted his career to the field of Education; Teaching and Management.  He has progressed from a secondary school teacher to Headmaster in various schools in the country to Head of Management & Training Division prior to his current post. As the Director of Primary Education he has contributed to the design, implementation and evaluation of Education Policies in Botswana.

Mr Basiamang holds a Master of Science in Educational Management from Florida State University, USA, Bachelor of Arts from the University of Botswana and several certificates of attendance on Advanced Educational leadership.

     

     
 

Mrs Maithamako Molojwane – Member

Mrs Molojwane retired from the public service at the position of Chief Social worker in the Department of Social Welfare in the Ministry of Local Government which is tasked with coordination and development of social welfare policies in the country.

She has represented the Ministry in various committees and served as a member of different statutory Boards such as Parole, Mental and Health and Sir Seretse Khama Memorial Fund.  She has represented Botswana and participated in international conferences on Children and Social Development.

Mrs Molojwane holds a Master of Science in Social Work from Colombia University, USA, Bachelors in Psychology and Diploma in Social Work from University of Wales, USA and Certificate in Social Work from Kenya Institute of Administration.

     

     
 

Mr Motshwari Kitso - Member

Mr M. Kitso is the Deputy Director of SOS Children Villages in Botswana.  Prior to joining SOS, he worked as a social worker for different Local Authorities in Botswana.

For the past 16 years he has served the community in providing guidance, counselling, education, leadership, promoting moral, socio-economic and development.  He has intervened in various social challenges and settings where key tasks were mostly to harmonise facilitate and mediate in crises situations. His area of focus is in policy formulation and implementation of Child and Youth Development.

Mr Kitso has served as member of Sub district Aids Multi- sectoral Committee, navigator of Child and Youth Development and as SOS Regional Navigator for Family strengthening Programmes.

He read for Bachelor degree in Social Sciences from the Open University Zimbabwe, Diploma in Social Work from University of Botswana, certificate in Management Development from University of Witwatersand, RSA where he is currently reading for his MBA.

     

     
 

Mr Kwenasetso Mohutsiwa

Mr. K. Mohutsiwa has practiced as an Attorney and convenyancer at both Government and Private sector for the past 30 years. He has provided services in the Prosecution, Civil and Lands Division.

He served in as a Board member of Town and Country Planning Board and recently sat in the Presidential Commission on BOTEC.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland. He has also attended courses on Sectional Titles.

     

     
 

Mrs Rose Onalethata Mandevu - Member

Mrs Mandevu is a Public Health specialist and HIV/AIDS Programme Developer/Manager and Consultant. She held different portfolios heading the divisions of Health Education Unit, Community Health Services and National Aids Programmes.

She has worked for UNDP as project Manager tasked with development of bridging plan, teacher capacity building project on health, nutrition and HIV/AIDS issues.  She has contributed in midterm assessment of UNFPA country programme.

She holds a Masters of Public Health from the University of Michigan, USA, a Bachelor of Science degree from the university of Botswana and Massachusetts, USA respectively. She has numerous certificates of short courses on Health, Leadership and Project management attended in Botswana, USA, Mauritius, Kenya, UK and Singapore.

     

     
 

Ms. Mogogi Nursy Kojane - Member

Ms Kojane is Chief Agricultural Information and Public Relations Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture.

Prior to working for this ministry, she worked as the Principal Youth officer at the Department of Culture and Youth in the Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs.

She has been instrumental in the development of a number of initiatives at national level such as greatly contributing to the development of the national   youth policy, the national action plan for youth, the national youth awards, and establishment of district youth offices as well as financial provision for the division.

She read for a Bachelor of Arts in Information and Communication: Media Studies from California State University USA, Diploma in Youth Work and Diploma in Secondary Education from University of Botswana.

Dr. Magaret N. Nasha- Minister of Local Government- Patron
‘MMABANA’

Dr. M. N. Nasha is the Minister of Local Government, with the portfolio responsible for implementation of primary education, primary health care provision, District and Urban councils, chieftainship matters as well as provision of social welfare services to the aged, needy, orphans and vulnerable children.  She has held various ministerial capacities as Assistant and or full Minister of the then Ministry of Local Government, Lands and Housing and Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Affairs.

A former Director of Information and Broadcasting, she has served as Botswana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, accredited to Romania and former Yugoslavia.  She also served as chairperson of the Commonwealth Foundation and SADC ambassadors, member of Botswana UNESCO Commission and the Women’s Development Planning Advisory Council.

Dr Nasha’s involvement in the national service projects dates back as she founded Mosasana Self Housing Association aimed at helping the low socio- economic income to house themselves, Patron of University of Botswana ‘s charitable society and Somarelang Tikologo, an environment watch non-governmental organisation.  She is a founding member and President for Botswana Caucus for Women in Politics.

Her commitment to children’s rights and welfare led to the establishment of Masiela Trust Fund which was launched by his Excellency the President, Mr. Festus Mogae who bestowed Dr Nasha with the accolades of ‘MMABANA’The Board of Trustees subsequently appointed her the Patron of the Trust.

She has presented several papers on women and politics, the obstacles they face in their struggle for political empowerment in Botswana, the situation of children in Botswana Zimbabwe, South Africa, Germany and USA.

Dr. Nasha read for Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities majoring in English and History from the University of Botswana.  She holds numerous Diploma certificates in Programme Production and Media Management from Kenya, United Kingdom and Australia.  She was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD) by the Central College of Iowa, a liberal arts university in USA in recognition of her track record in the fight for women’s rights.
