Educational Support

Education can leverage significant improvements in the lives of OVC as schools are safe, provide emotional support and provide an opportunity for children to interact and develop social networks.

The Trust, in partnership with other stakeholders sponsors educational fees for deserving cases to enable the orphans and vulnerable children to complete their education. Assessments are processed by the relevant stakeholders from which referrals are sent to Masiela Trust Fund proposing sponsorship or intervention to the specified situation.

• Around two thousand five hundred (2500) OVC are supported with pre-school (numeracy and literacy skills) and day-care activities with feeding programmes.
• Forty-one students supported at secondary and tertiary levels at local and Republic of South Africa institutions.  So far two students have graduated at diploma and degree levels.
