Funding Criteria

Following is the criteria for funding projects.

  • The organisation must be registered with the relevant registering authority.
  • The principal beneficiaries must be OVC.
  • The organisation to be assisted must have a high level of community involvement in terms of management committees, local authorities such as community leaders.
  • The project must demonstrate a high level of sustainability.
  • The organisation must have the institutional capacity to implement the projects.

Process

  • Proposals for funding are sent to the Secretariat for review, and subsequent approval and endorsement by the Board.
  • Memoranda of agreement (contracts) for approved proposals are signed by the Director.
  • The Trustees attend planned meetings of the Board to keep themselves informed on the activities of the Trust, and keep the public accurately informed of such activities.
  • Monitoring and evaluation is done by relevant officers for:
    • Conformity – with signed contracts.
    • Accountability at all levels- MTF and intervention sites in terms of financial management, achievement of objectives, and delivery of service.
    • Learning - Lessons learnt from past experience help redesigning of activities .i.e. knowing which interventions are benefiting children and inform options for scaling up.
    • Advocacy - findings gathered help build a strong case for sensitizing communities and government on key OVC issues.
